13 Months Old!

On August 8, sweet Logan turned 13 months old!  I think I was in denial about him being one, but turning a month older seemed to help it sink in.  Logan is as busy as ever, and he is still into everything!  Here is what Logan has been up to this month:
  • Dancing- and he even moves with the beat most of the time!  His dance moves mostly consist of swaying and shaking his bottom with his hands in the air.  It is so cute!
  • Talking even more- his new word this month is "bubbles."  He will point at the bottle of bubbles and sometimes even bring it to you and tell you he wants to see "bubbles."
  • Playing with anything electronic he can find, particularly the TV remotes.  He has learned to change channels and control the volume (mostly by accident).  He also learned that the remote can float in the bath tub, but after he puts it in the tub it no longer works : )
  • Putting telephones and things that could be and/or look like phones up to his ear like he is listening.
  • Reading- Logan still LOVES his books.  As you can see in the picture above, we could not pry one out of his hands!  His favorites are still Dr. Seuss, but he has branched out to liking other books too.  The books he likes best are short and have a lot of pictures.  When he finds one around the house he wants read, he will bring it to us and want to sit in our laps while we read.  We just love it!
  • Developing a desire to climb- he has not done a lot of this yet, but he certainly is interested and climbs whenever he can!
  • Still eating pretty much anything.  New foods this month include spaghetti made with Bess's homemade marinara sauce, garlic mac & cheese with truffle oil from a fancy restaurant (he has sophisticated taste!), chicken nuggets, carrot souffle, and much more.  He still eats all of his veggies, with his favorite probably being green peas.  He also loves fruit.  The only thing he does not like so far is juice- I can't get him to drink it!  He either wants milk or water.
  • Sharing- he loves to share his Cheerios with Brian and me!  He wants to put them in our mouths himself.  Sometimes he also tries to share green peas, but I always pass on those!
  • Returning what he is not supposed to have- most of the time.  If he picks up something he knows he is not supposed to have and we tell him, most of the time he will bring it over to us.  However, this is not always the case.
  • Starting to have some small tantrums, particularly when we trample his desire to be independent or take something away.  The tantrums involve some pretty dramatic crying while falling on the floor.`
  • Still wearing size 24 months and 2T clothing, and he just moved up to size 6 in shoes.
Logan is still so sweet, and we love him dearly!
